Tividale is situated on the edge of the Diocese in the Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell. Its neighbouring parishes to the south are in the Dioceses of Birmingham and Worcester. The 1991 census figures give a population of about 17,000 - but since then there has been a considerable amount of building, mainly flats and starter-homes. The housing mix is about 60% owner-occupied: 40% council rented.
The parish is situated between Birmingham and Dudley - only a mile or so from Junction 2 on the M5. Dudley castle and the Black Country Museum are also only a mile away. The open countryside can be reached within a ten minute drive.
There are five LEA Primary Schools in the parish, one Comprehensive School and two Special Schools. Links with all these schools are in place and are continually being strengthened. The local hospitals are all in other parishes, but this sphere of ministry is considered a priority. There is only one residential home for the elderly - this is supported regularly.
