The Churches

The Parish of Tividale was established in 1878 to serve the workers in the foundries and factories of this part of Tipton. Right from the start it was a stronghold of the Tractarian Movement. It has maintained an uncompromising devotion to the Catholic Faith and is currently a "Forward in Faith" Parish under the episcopal ministry of the Bishop of Ebbsfleet. Resolutions A, B and C are all in force. Resolution C having been passed again unanimously this year.

There are two churches in the parish.

St. Michael's

The Parish Church of Saint Michael the Archangel

St. Michael's lies off the A 4033 about 150 yards east of Burnt Tree Island. The Victorian parish church was demolished about 12 years ago because of serious structural problems. A new church complex was opened in 1996.
